It is well known that tracheal extubation may be associatedrespiratory complications leading to morbidity and mortality.Difficult Air way Society (DAS) and American Society ofAnesthesiologists Task (ASA) Force have suggested guidelinesemphasising the need of a pre-formulated extubation strategyinvolving the use of supra glottic airway device (SAD) and airwayexchange catheter (AEC) for rapid reintubation.1 The availableliterature revealed that use of intubation introducers through asupraglottic airway device facilitates tracheal intubation. Variousairway exchange catheter/stylettes acts as a guide over which anendotracheal tube (ETT) can be passed.2 In literature, the successrate of reintubation using intubation catheter was reported from92-98%.
