Macrodactyly is an increase in the size of one or several fingers or toes. It is characterized by an increase in all mesenchymal elements particularly fibro-adipose tissue. This should be distinguished from secondary digital/limb enlargement that occurs in vascular anomalies or as a result of other syndromes. The accepted treatment is reduction of the fibro-fatty bulk via dissection and ablation to obtain a cosmetic and functional foot.
